Electronic commerce has made rapid progress in recent years. Especially, Internet auctions have become especially popular in Electronic Commerce. Computational agents are expected to work on behalf of humans in Internet auctions, e.g., to seek sellers or buyers and to negotiate the prices. Although the Internet provides an excellent infrastructure for executing auctions much cheaper with many more sellers and buyers from all over the world, we must consider the possibility of new types of cheating. Therefore, I have been conducting research on auction theory with aim of designing a reliable auction mechanism that is robust against cheating.
